About Karima

Meet the instructor,

Karima Blaine.

Karima is a half Estonian/half Yemeni Hatha yoga instructor and reiki practitioner. Karima has been practicing yoga for the last decade, obtaining her 200-hour RYT teaching certification in 2020 from Shanti Heart Sanctuary, Odessa, Florida. Karima has loved the arts since her earliest childhood memories. As a child, she loved painting, drawing, and sculpting.  Karima obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and Design from The London Metropolitan University in London, UK. Thereafter, Karima became certified in Theta Healing in London Kensington; both Basic DNA and Advanced DNA. Art has always been a way for Karima to connect to the deeper truth within herself and allows her to express her feelings through those outlets. Whether it is painting beautiful colors on a piece of canvas or challenging herself on a yoga mat, Karima has dedicated herself to a life-long journey of self-exploration.

Karima’s journey into yoga started when she realized she had been suffering from deep depression and an addiction to alcohol for several years. She knew that the path she took in coping with her inner fears was not a healthy one, and that she needed to change course before permanently damaging herself. After many years of up and downs, Karima reached deep within herself, accepted her truths, dedicated herself to yoga, and is now five years sober.

Karima’s new passion is sharing the tools she has gained in yoga in combating her own PTSD, MDD, and anxiety to help others coping with challenging situations and help people to build their own toolbox.

Karima believes in pranayama (breath) which is controlled by our mind (manas), and offers full classes on Alkaline Breath. Kapalbhati (shinning skull breath), Breath of Joy, Lions’ Breath, Bumble Bee Breath and many more, while also including asana (body work). She offers one-to-one healing sessions through Zoom and is a great believer in talking through your feelings and releasing what no longer serves you.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
